Holly Willoughby was reportedly \u2018pulled out of presenting This Morning just moments before it went on air\u2019, due to an alleged plot to 'kidnap her.'<\/p>\n

Gavin Plumb, 36, has been charged and accused of incitement to commit rape, soliciting to commit murder and incitement to commit kidnap.<\/p>\n

He is set to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court today, Friday 6 October, after being held by officers on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Last night the TV star was placed under a protective \u201cpolice guard\u201d after the suspected plot to her came to light.<\/p>\n

According to The Sun, police alerted This Morning producers of the alleged \u2018kidnapping plot\u2019 early yesterday morning, leading to her being told shortly before she was about to go on air.<\/p>\n

Holly was reportedly left \u201cshocked and distraught\u201d with bosses deciding it would be better to pull her out of the show. She has remained at her home in London with her family, where she is being protected by a police guard.<\/p>\n

On the night the man was arrested, the presenter had been due to celebrate her husband Daniel Baldwin\u2019s 49th birthday alongside their children Harry, 14, Belle, 12, and eight-year-old Chester.<\/p>\n

It comes as fans became concerned for Holly after she was missing from Thursday\u2019s edition of This Morning. She was quickly replaced by fellow presenter Alison Hammond, who stepped in at the last minute to present the daytime TV show alongside Josie Gibson.<\/p>\n

The presenting duo opted to avoid addressing Holly\u2019s absence on the show, with Josie presenting the opening line: \u201cLook who\u2019s joined me,\u201d before gesturing to Alison.<\/p>\n

With no reason given for the sudden change to the presenting roster, many fans were quick to take to social media to express their concerns for Holly\u2019s well-being.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the time, one fan wrote: "Not even a mention of why she\u2019s not on today?"<\/p>\n

While a second viewer soon penned: "No Holly today?! Devastated."<\/p>\n

Superintendent Tim Tubbs said: "This was an extremely fast paced investigation, with many of our officers and national partners working overnight to secure these charges.<\/p>\n

"The safeguarding of any victim is paramount and we will continue to prioritise this as the investigation proceeds."<\/p>\n
