Communities up and down the UK will be taking part in the special event.

What is the Big Lunch?

The Big Lunch is ran by Eden Project Communities.

The event takes place regularly but there is a special celebration over the coronation weekend.

It is described as bringing "neighbours and communities together to share friendship, food and fun".

They are part of the official coronation celebrations and are inviting anyone at all to come and join in.

How many Big Lunch events are taking place in the UK?

There have been well over one million events held since 2009, with many more being added over the coming weekend.

An interactive map shows where more than 3,700 lunch parties to mark King Charles III's coronation are happening across Britain.

Thousands of parties are set to be held over the weekend.

The map shows there are currently over 3,700 Coronation Big Lunches planned in the UK with some abroad as well.

Lunches are set to be held in Canada, the US, France, Germany, Greece and New Zealand.

Buckingham Palace said the events from Saturday to Monday will be "a nationwide act of celebration and friendship".

Some royals are set to get involved as on Sunday, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh will attend a Big Lunch at Cranleigh in Surrey and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie will be at one in Windsor.

Last year the Big Lunch events raised more than £22million for local charities.

How to join the Big Lunch for the coronation

Anyone can get involved in the Big Lunch by heading to the Eden Project Communities website.

You can then order a Coronation Big Lunch pack by filling out your details.

There is a form to fill out which asks for your location amongst other simple questions.

They will also ask where you heard about the events.

A pack will then be sent to you and you are set to host your own Coronation Big Lunch.

You are then able to add your Big Lunch onto the interactive map.
