The six EastEnders killers involved in the upcoming Christmas murder provided their wildest theories on the murder victim, and they’re so outlandishly believable.
A special flash-forward episode, which coincided with the popular soap’s 38th anniversary week in February, teased a killing over the festive season this year, with six of the show’s iconic matriarchs towering over a body in The Queen Vic.
The identity of the victim remains a mystery, with viewers desperately trying to figure out just who it is that will perish, with some even noticing a few clues here and there in both the flash-forward scene itself as well as in the subsequent, present-day episodes.
During Tuesday’s National Television Awards, Lacey Turner, (Stacey Slater) Kellie Bright, (Linda Carter) Gillian Taylforth, (Kathy Beale) Diane Parish (Denise Fox) and Balvinder Sopal (Suki Panesar) made sure no one forgot what’s to come as they dressed in their signature colours.
And instead of giving a hint on the identity of the unlucky victim, they gave their personal predictions to Metro.co.uk.
‘Back from the dead,’ Diane began.
Referencing the soaps best-known pets, Leitia joked: ‘Roly, back from the dead.’
Well, with Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) dramatic return to Walford after it was revealed that she didn’t die 20 years ago, but instead had been living undercover as a lady called Rose Knight, anything is possible right.
Taking a different perspective, Kellie said: ‘Maybe they’re not dead at all,’ while Lacey simply pointed out: ‘Maybe it was all a dream.’
Diane added: ‘There’s all sorts of likelihoods, but what we do know is that it’s kept people gripped all year long. Hasn’t been done before where we’ve given people a taster the previous year in order to keep people watching and engaged. So you better watch!’
Don’t worry Diane, we intend to!
The level of detail regarding the ladies choice of outfits didn’t go unnoticed by super fans.
‘The order. the colours. this is marketing at its finest,’ one person shared on social media.
‘OMG this is amazing,’ another added.
