Lorraine Kelly has been extremely vocal about The Eurovision Song Contest which saw the UK’s entry, James Newman come bottom, after receiving no points from other countries or from the public. The British singer-songwriter joined her on her self-titled show this morning where she blasted ‘the Rotters’ – a pun on the show taking place in Rotterdam and those who vote.

“How are you?” She asked and James replied: “Good thank you.”

‘I’m glad you’re smiling, that was tough, you sang the house down and the Rotters – that’s me being polite – gave you nothing at all!” Lorraine added.

“We went there and trie dour hardest,” James explained. “We took the best of British and I was really happy with our song and performance.

“The crowd in the arena went crazy when we got 0 points, it means such a lot.”

“The song has gone onto be so successful, you must find some comfort in that?” The presenter wondered.

“The whole reason into doing this, is to sing music to people and to get the song out to the world. To then come home and see the song at number one is amazing. Everything got a silver lining,” James added.
