Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln) has been wrestling with his feelings for Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) in Emmerdale, and Andrea (Anna Nightingale) has grown incredibly suspicious of her husband’s actions, but — in spite of him having managed to lie his way out of a serious situation during tonight’s instalment — will Andrea’s doubts continue to grow?
Jamie has done everything he can to resist Belle — and vice versa — but the two ultimately gave into temptation during the previous instalment, as they slept together while on a call-out from the vets.
Afterwards, a guilty Jamie returned home to find Andrea worried, and — as the pair shared passionate kiss — they slept together.
During tonight’s double-bill, Belle discovered that Jamie had slept with his wife, and she was fuming. Jamie attempted to explain his actions, but she was having none of it.
Meanwhile, Andrea discovered that Jamie wasn’t out with Paddy on the previous day like he’d suggested, and she began to worry about why her husband had lied to her.
As she headed round to confront him in the pub, she walked in on a heated altercation between he and Belle — something which piqued her interest.
Kim (Claire King) managed to save the day, claiming that Jamie took Millie round to visit her on the afternoon in question, and — in spite of being upset about the whole thing — Andrea seemingly bought the lie.
Jamie therefore decided to put an end to his relationship with Belle — but the conflict was apparent in his face as he did so.
Is this really the end?
Andrea’s incredibly perceptive — as she’s proven several times in the past — so, now that her suspicions have been piqued once, one can’t help but wonder if she’ll continue to investigate as to why her husband lied to her?
Having Kim in his life is reason enough to suspect he’s keeping secrets from her, so she may well begin to watch his every move.
If so, will she discover the truth about his affair with Belle?
Emmerdale continues Friday 27 March at 7pm on ITV.
