Power Book II: Ghost: A look at the dramatic finale
Power reached its shocking climax in early 2020, reaching its conclusion following six seasons. Thankfully, this wasn’t the end of the story altogether as there is plenty more to look forward to. Express.co.uk has everything you need to know about the upcoming spin-off shows on Starz.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Power.
How many Power spin-off series are being made?
Power ended with the death of James “Ghost” St Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick).
The series came to a close with a “who done it?” storyline, whereby fans had to try and figure out who shot Ghost.
Prior to Power season six coming to an end, executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson released a statement saying how there was more to come.
He said: “The last 5 seasons of Power have been an incredible ride for me and all of our supportive fans.
“We are far from over and I am excited to bring you more from the Power brand.
“I am proud that I was able to put a lasting stamp on this chapter with my directorial debut in an episode that features one of the wildest scenes ever on the show.”

But even before season six started on Starz, Jackson announced the spin-off shows.
He said in an Instagram post: “Augs25 starts Season 6 is the final season of POWER. I have 4 spin off shows coming so don’t trip.”
So Power fans have four new spin-off series to look forward to over the next couple of years.
The first of the four, Power Book II: Ghost, came out in mid-2020 and ended just before Christmas.
Power Book II: Ghost is set in New York, just a few weeks after Ghost’s death.
Tariq St Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr) was discovered to be the killer in Power series six but mum Tasha St Patrick (Naturi Naughton) went to prison for him.
Power Book II’s first season was about Tariq selling drugs on his college campus so he can pay for top lawyer David MacClean (Method Man) to help his mum get out of jail.
The show reached its dramatic climax this month but fear not as Book II has already been renewed for a second season.
A release date hasn’t been revealed but the earliest it could come out is September 2021, a year after the series one premiere.

Power Book 2, episode 11: Did Power Book 2 come on tonight? [EXPLAINER]
The next spin-off to come out on Starz will be Power Book III: Raising Kanan.
Unlike the others which will see the events after Ghost’s death, Book III is a prequel set in the 1990s.
The drama will be about Kanan Stark (Curtis Jackson) growing up, showing how he became the notorious drug dealer in the original Power series.
While it isn’t known exactly when the series will be out, it is expected to be released sometime in summer 2021.
Disney actor Mekai Curtis has been cast to play the young version of Kanan.
The third Power spin-off series to be released will be Power Book IV: Force.
This will tell the tale of Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) after he left New York and headed for Los Angeles.
Tommy made an appearance in the Power Book II season one finale so this may also be weaved into the show.
Power Book IV may come out in late 2021 or early 2022.
The final spin-off show in the Power franchise is Power Book V: Influence which is going to revolve around Rashad Tate (Larenz Tate).
Few details have been announced about the show apart from it will be about his rise to power as he continues his campaign to become Governor.
This new drama is most likely to come out sometime in 2022.
Power is available to watch on Starz and Starzplay.
