Max George gets tattoo tribute for his late Wanted band mate Tom Parker | The Sun

MAX George has paid tribute to his late bandmate Tom Parker with a tattoo.

The 33-year-old singer celebrated Tom's August 4th birthday by getting a tattoo of his date of birth on his collarbone, as a way of remembering his fellow The Wanted star, who died in March after battling terminal brain cancer.

Max posted a picture of his tattoo on Instagram and wrote: "04.08.1988 Happy Birthday brother… You’re always with me."

Tom was just 33 when he passed away on March 30, two years after being diagnosed with stage four glioblastoma.

In May, Max revealed he was struggling to come to terms with Tom's death and said he still texted his pal after his death.

He said: "I'm still trying to process it, I still text him actually. If I get pictures or stuff that fans have made with him in it or they send a nice message to do with Tom, I'll WhatsApp it to him.

"I just find a bit of comfort in that. The worst bit is when I'm not doing it and I do it accidentally. Sometimes I go to do it and I'm like, 'Oh no'." And Max has been full of praise for Tom's widow Kelsey, with whom the late star shared two children.

He said: "Kelsey's been awesome. She's always been really strong, like Tom. They were literally two peas in a pod. She's raising awareness for glioblastoma and cancer in general, she's been great. We talk quite often, just check in, make sure she's alright."

Tom's devastated wife Kelsey broke the sad news as she told The Sun in March: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side.
