Things are set to come to a head between Toby Faroe (Bobby Gordon) and Mitchell Deveraux (Imran Adams) in Hollyoaks this week, after extracts from a book go missing.
Toby’s traumatic childhood could be revealed after Martine (Kelle Bryan) finds a copy of the book The Red Door among Liberty’s (Jessamy Stoddart) belongings and Mitchell suggests they read it to better understand Toby.
Toby is furious when he catches them with the experimental book written about him and Celeste (Andrea Ali) as children, and Celeste has to try and calm him down.
He later realises some pages from The Red Door have gone missing, and decides to find out who has got them.
Toby spots the pages in Mitchell’s bag when he and Celeste are invited to a family meal and asks Mitchell to meet up in private so he can explain his side of the story.
However, given that Toby was planning to bludgeon Mitchell on his wedding day, accidentally killing Lisa Loveday (Rachel Adedeji) instead, the meeting is probably not just going to be a chat over coffee.
Toby summons Mitchell to his flat under the pretence that they are going to ‘discuss the book’, but tensions rise when Mitchell brings up Dr Ley.
Later, Felix (Richard Blackwood) overhears an argument between Celeste and Toby and wants to know what Toby has done, leaving Toby anxious when Felix reveals that Celeste has told him everything.
The existence of The Red Door book has been teased since the start of January when Liberty showed Sienna (Anna Passey) a book she had been reading, which was later revealed to be about Toby growing up in a room with a red door.
In March, it was revealed that the book was written as part of an experiment on Toby, so it’s no wonder he wants to keep the contents of it hidden from the Deverauxs – even if it could mean shutting Mitchell up in a brutal way.
