Chicago PD favourites Jesse and Tracy reunite as actors strike continues

Watch the promo for Chicago PD finale

In the midst of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike which has seen numerous well-known faces take to the picket lines, Chicago PD favourites Jesse Lee Soffer and Tracy Spiridakos have had a reunion.

The pair, best known for their on-screen roles as the married couple Jay Halstead and Hailey Upton, met up as they both brandished banners while protesting.

They were joined by One Chicago’s executive producer Derek Haas and Jesse captioned the ‘Upstead’ reunion “Team, assemble!” for his 1.2 million Instagram followers.

Jesse exited the show at the start of season 10 when his character rejoined the army, moved to Bolivia and started to avoid his wife’s calls.

Since fans have no idea when season 11 will air due to the actors strike the reunion was especially exciting for them and they took to the comments to air their feelings.

Following his departure from the show Jesse explained his reasoning for quitting to Variety.

“I really wanted to grow and expand, and we’ve only got this one trip, if I signed up again, it would have been for another three years,” he explained

“I would have turned 40 on the show. I thought, ‘You know what? It’s time to take a risk.’”

Jesse continued: “It was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make in my life. Let’s be honest I love the fans of our show so much, and I love my fans.

“I know that they’re still grieving this, and to some degree, I am, too.”
