Bridgerton fans have reacted with huge excitement as it was announced the hit Netflix show has been commissioned for two more seasons.
The news was announced on the hit show’s Twitter page as it shared an image of a statement written in the form of Lady Whistledown’s gossip column.
Above the image it read: “Dearest readers, this author brings a most exciting announcement…”
The statement then revealed: “Esteemed members of the Ton,

“It seems we have a rather special announcement. Bridgerton shall return for seasons three and four. This author shall have to purchase more ink… Yours Truly, Lady Whistledown”.
The news received thousands of likes from fans while many replied in excitement.
One ecstatic viewer wrote: “This is fantastic news! I hope we get to see more of Lady Danbury coz I love her fashion game so much and @andoh_adjoa is amazing. Can't wait for Seasons 2, 3 & 4!!!” [sic]
While another said: “IM DEAD DEAD DEAD BENOPHIE IS COMING POLIN IS COMIIIIIIING”. [sic]
And a third celebrated: “Maaann….. I knew you'd come through for us with some good news” alongside a praying emoji and red heart emoji.
The news comes as it was revealed that lead heartthrob Regé-Jean Page would not be returning to film for future series following his huge popularity as the Duke of Hastings.
His exit from the show was shared, once again in the style of Lady Whistledown’s gossip column, in a statement shared on Instagram.

“While all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton's quest to find a Viscountness, we bid adieu to Rege-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings.
“We'll miss Simon's presence on screen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family.
“Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer – more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to bear.”
It was later reported, according to Page Six, that 31 year old actor Regé-Jean didn’t like what the show had planned for his character.
An insider told the publication: “Regé is not coming back to ‘Bridgerton’ because of creative differences with [executive producer] Shonda Rhimes and her team.”
The source added: “He wasn’t happy with what was planned for his character for Season 2, which would have kept him a player but not the focal point of the show.”
