BEAT the Chasers star Darragh Ennis was in a menacing mood on Monday night – after he lashed out at host Bradley Walsh for his celebrity status.
Darragh, better known to fanatics of The Chase as ‘The Menace’, lined up for a special celebrity edition of the programme – and he was taking no prisoners.
On the show, actor Omid Djalili and Olympian Richard Whitehead took to the stage, but it was Darragh who soon stole the limelight with a brutal comment towards the host.
While host Bradley introduced the show, Darragh jokingly interjected: "After working with you for so long, it’ll be nice to work with some real celebrities."
A disgruntled Bradley cheekily told the audience at home: "That’s the only seat with an ejector button on it. You won’t be seeing him for long!"
Darragh replied: "Not a jab, more a terrible joke.”
It's not the first time that Darragh has been caught trying to convey laughter from fans of the popular ITV quiz show.
Earlier this year, viewers were left shocked after a "lively" Bradley had a go at Darragh for telling "cringey" one-liners.
Player Laura was given a question about which saint was named the Patron Saint of Television and correctly answered St. Clare of Assisi.
The saint was named the Patron Saint of Screens by Pope Pius XII in 1957 after she started seeing entire Mass services on the wall of her room.
Before moving on to the next question, Darragh shared a joke with host Bradley.
He quipped: "So when they asked her if she could see Mass, because she's Italian she replied, 'ah, si, si'."
