BBC Strictly Come Dancings Katya Jones life off screen from kiss scandal to feud

Katya Jones has become a familiar face on Strictly Come Dancing over the years, joining the show as a professional in 2016.

In recent years, Katya has been paired with various celebrities, including Ed Balls and Nicola Adams. However, her most notable win was with Joe McFadden in 2017. Their chemistry and performances won them the coveted Glitterball Trophy.

In the previous season, Katya partnered with football legend Tony Adams. They faced some challenges during their journey, with their salsa dance receiving just 21 points, placing them at the bottom of the leaderboard.

The duo ended up having to address a reported feud after they were spotted in a tense conversation following the performance.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Tony joked: "We constantly argue, don’t we?"

Katya sarcastically replied: "We just don’t like each other at all, we don’t get on!”

Tony continued: "We’ve had two months together now. She’s been training me and the routines she’s putting on are incredible. And sometimes when I miss a step, sometimes she’s a little bit over critical and I just want to have a good time as well.

“So I think it’s a balance between maybe letting me make a mistake and enjoying myself a little bit at times… I’m not an expert in this field.”

Katya's personal life has also been a topic of interest among fans. She was previously married to fellow dancer Neil Jones for six years. Their love story began in 2008 when they competed together in Blackpool.

They achieved significant success as a dance couple, winning the World Professional Latin Showdance Championships in 2015 and becoming British National Professional Champions four times.

However, in August 2019, Katya and Neil announced their separation in a joint statement. The statement, posted on both their social media pages, read: "Hi everyone, as our fans and loyal supporters you are really important to us and so we wanted to let you know some news."

The statement then announced the couple's decision to split and explained: "We will always love each other, just in a different way as friends.

Despite the split, the couple say they "will always have love for each other" and plan to "keep working and dancing together".

They ended their statement by saying: "We wish one another every happiness and we will remain the best of friends.

"We are really looking forward to getting back to the ballroom and can't wait to keep dancing."

One of the most notable moments in Katya's personal life occurred during the 2018 season of Strictly when she was partnered with comedian Seann Walsh.

The pair were photographed kissing during a night out, sparking widespread controversy. Katya addressed the situation publicly, expressing her apologies for any hurt caused and emphasising her commitment to her professional duties on the show.

Since her split from Neil, Katya has kept her love life relatively private. However, there have been reports that she joined the celebrity dating app Raya. Meanwhile, Neil has been linked to Luisa Eusse and, more recently, Love Island's Chyna Mills, with whom he is expecting a child.
