Ant McPartlin ‘throws’ dogs off sofa on Saturday Night Takeaway, say upset fans

Ant McPartlin caused a stir on Saturday Night Takeaway when he appeared to launch his dogs off the sofa.

Co-hosting with Declan Donelly, the pair presented the show from their own sofas – and fans were smitten with the presenters’ dogs who appeared to enjoy lapping up all the extra attention.

In the clip, Dec is joined by his dachshund Rocky who sits on his lap while being gently petted.

Ant is partially-buried under a mound of his three dogs – Milo, Bumble, and chocolate Labrador Hurley, who he shares with ex-wife Lisa Armstrong.

“We’ve been joined by tonight’s special guests – the dogs! Hello boys,” says Ant, giving his canine trio a cuddle.

He adds: “It’s the best we could do because we’re in isolation.”

“And they’re quite cheap,” jokes Dec.

The pair then prepare to show a throwback clip of TV chef Gordon Ramsay “turning the air blue” when they pester him in 2014.

Talking to his dogs, Ant says: “It’s too late for us, boys! Save yourselves! Go, go go!”

According to viewers, he then appears to throw Milo and Bible off the sofa, while giving Hurley a push.

However, not all fans found it funny.

A shocked woman tweeted: “Why did I just watch Ant literally THROW his dog #SaturdayNightTakeaway”

“What on earth did Ant @antanddec #SaturdayNightTakeaway think he was doing to his dogs?” questioned another viewer.

But a third claimed that, if you look closer, it appears the dogs were simply thrown to the side and out of shot.

Posting laughing emojis, he said: “I’ve got to say, all these people having a go at Ant for “chucking his dogs” – we had to rewind to see and he literally threw them right next to him back onto his sofa. People need to get a grip.”

In the clip, it does appear that Ant is sitting on an L-shaped corner sofa and Milo and Bumble have a gentle landing.
