If you’re looking for a getaway, you need not look any further than Airbnb‘s latest offering. Those wanting to live out their swampiest dreams fuelled by the childhood nostalgia and fantasy created by DreamWorks Animation’s SHREK, can now find themselves a mud-laden, moss-covered fairytale home in the rolling hills of Scotland.
This Halloween, Airbnb is offering a place for ogre enthusiasts to stay in Shrek’s Swamp. Shrek’s stumpy abode is located on the hills of the Scottish Highlands, secluded from the hustling and bustling of city life. Fit for the solitude-seeking ogre and fans alike, Shrek’s Swamp even has Donkey’s seal of approval. With the luscious overgrown landscape, modest interiors, the Airbnb is a muddy slice of paradise for fans to live out their biggest ogre fantasies. It is important to note that the bathroom is located 20 meters from the main living area in a standalone facility operated by the Ardverikie Estate.
Those curious can book a chance to live their own version of Shrek’s life for two nights. The space brings a whole new meaning to “treehouse,” featuring a clever use of forestry and rustic interiors to match setting. The book costs nothing as Airbnb states it is “a nod to the priceless refuge Shrek’s Swamp has provided fairytale creatures of all kinds.” Booking can be requested for up to three guests from October 27-29 for an exclusive two night stay. Requests to book begin on Octobe 13 at 6 p.m. BST at Airbnb. Guests are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to and from Scotland. With this offer, Airbnb will make a one-time donation to the HopScotch Children’s Charity, which provides some of Scotland’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged children with respite breaks through nurturing and dynamic holiday trips.
