Page 3 girls on whether holidays are ‘selfish’ with chaotic new travel rules

Our Hot Topics panel returned to Facebook Live today – and the debate was as juicy as ever.

Page 3 star Chloe, Daisy and Jess joined host Pandora Forsyth to talk about trending stories of the week.

And with Brits jetting off for the first time in months, holidays were the first topic of discussion.

As the government has baffled Brits with its vague guidelines, there’s been a lot of talk about whether or not travel is acceptable or not.

But while some may think it’s “selfish” to jet off, shrewd model Jess can’t wait to bake in the sun again.

She said: “I’m going to Portugal in June and I’m going to Dubai in October so it’s all good. I hope.”

These plans may annoy the likes of Lord Bethell, who told House of Lord peers that “travelling is dangerous”.

He urged: "We do ask people, particularly as we go into the summer, travelling is not for this year, please stay in this country."

But as the government has given the green list the go-ahead, Jess isn’t going to take these warnings to heart.

She said: “I’m going to go what’s best for me with tests and quarantine, but by this point I couldn’t care less if it’s irresponsible.

“If there was anyone out there who called me selfish then I totally agree.”

Our other Daily Star girls have taken a more cautious approach to holidays.

Chloe has cancelled an Ibiza trip because she doesn’t think the party atmosphere will be there during the pandemic.

She said: “You can’t really social distance in Ibiza so it’s not really the right time at the moment.”

Meanwhile, Daisy is reluctant to jet off until later on in the year.

She hopes by that point, government guidance on travel will be a bit clearer.

Daisy said: “I haven’t got anything coming up. I’d love to book something but I’m just so unsure about everything.

“All the tests back and forth and the quarantine after. I’m just a bit confused about it all.”

The model is holding off until September in the hope that restrictions will lift more by then.

It seems that Daily Star readers are equally divided on the topic too.

When asked if they’d consider visiting an “amber” list country this year, 76.4% of our readers said they wouldn’t.

Around a quarter (23.6%) haven’t been deterred by warnings though – so who knows where they’ll be globe-trotting too in the near future!
