McDonald’s can’t seem to get spice right.
The fast food giant was criticised for releasing hot chicken nuggets that didn’t have enough kick.
But now, customers are having the opposite problem.
Scores of Maccies fans have taken to Twitter to complain the new new spicy quarter pounder burger is too spicy.
The combination of jalapenos, spicy ketchup and pepper jack cheese is a step too far for some.
One Twitter user wrote: “Spicy Quarter Pounder sauce is too much. Spoils it.”
Another said: “Seeing as the @McDonaldsUK Spicy Nuggets weren’t very spicy, I thought I’d try the new Spicy Quarter Pounder.
“I wish I hadn’t, I now can’t taste anything.”
A third wrote: “Is it just me or is the new McDonald’s Spicy Quarter Pounder bloody spicy?”
And a fourth added: “If you’re curious about the Spicy Quarter Pounder. Don’t be. It’s vile.”
Even though dozens have complained about the menu item, others can’t get enough of it.
On Twitter, a customer gushed: “I can report the Spicy Quarter Pounder is absolutely delicious.”
Another agreed: “Loving the Spicy Quarter Pounder. It needs to stay.”
And a third added: “Spicy Quarter Pounder filled a hole in my life I never knew was there.”
The spicy burger isn't the only new addition to the McDonald's menu.
Sandwich lovers will enjoy the company's £5.19 McChicken BLT – a crispy chicken patty is served with lettuce, mayonnaise and bacon.
Maccies has also added a new quarter pounder deluxe to the menu.
A tasty beef patty is topped with streaky bacon, cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles, mayo, ketchup and mustard.
The fully loaded burger will cost £4.89 – not bad if you ask us.
