What was the design process like for creating this look?

Christian Siriano: “I think when I showed the dress to Laverne. we both had an instant reaction that it was the one and going to be perfect! It’s right off our most recent runway and it really was a perfect gown for this joyful night celebrating talent. It also probably was one of the best fittings I have had for an award show. It fit almost perfectly at the very first fitting.”

CS: “I think what’s important is that this dress has so many dimensions. Parts are sheer, graphic, the cold color is powerful but the dress is still soft and romantic.

Does returning to classic, red carpet glamour excite you?

CS: “I love these getting ready at home glamour shoots. I think there is something exciting about seeing people get ready in their own space and capturing their own editorial content is a little more exciting than a standard red carpet. “
