Former glamour model Katie Price is reportedly in conversations to hire a 24/7 security firm after she was allegedly punched in the face during an "unprovoked attack" on Monday.
The 43-year-old was rushed to hospital after being left with a bruised cheek and split lip, according to reports. Katie's £50,000 engagement ring was also taken from her at the time the incident took place.
Due to the unexpected assault, mother-of-five Katie is understandably shaken by the events and is now looking to increase the security surrounding her in Essex, according to a source.
It is also believed that the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant requires a "ring of steel" around her pad in order for her to feel safe.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: "Katie is considering getting a security team in place and has spoken to guys she has used in the past. She is also thinking about getting a panic alarm so that she feels even safer.
"Katie's priority is feeling safe and she'll do anything – including 24/7 security forming a 'ring of steel' around her – to make sure that's the case."
The news of Katie's security comes after the TV personality reportedly claimed she has no plans to drop her assault case over allegations she was attacked earlier this week.
Since the incident took place on Monday, a man in his 30s has been bailed after being arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive and controlling behaviour.
Following recent reports that she "cannot face" an appearance in court, an insider close to the reality star has claimed that Katie is still set on pressing ahead with the allegations and is receiving support from her close pals during the process.
They also said Katie is "very scared" after the alleged attack took place.
A source told Daily Mirror: "It's not true that she is dropping the case, but she is very scared and is feeling emotionally vulnerable."
The source also told the publication that all of Katie's friends are behind and will ensure she has the strength to pursue the case.
On Thursday, Essex Police confirmed that a man who had been arrested has been released on police bail until next month.
The statement said: "A man arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive and controlling behaviour has been released on bail until September 20."
The police also released a statement on Monday which gave further details of what took place.
"We were called by colleagues in the ambulance service to reports of an assault shortly after 1.30am. We found a woman had sustained a facial injury which required hospital treatment.
"A man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of assault."
Talking to The Sun about the attack, business mogul Katie said she sustained "a big bruise" and her face was "puffy".
She also said she was "dazed" and felt "devastated" in regards to what had taken place.
