Shane Richie is currently starring in the new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! alongside other famous faces.

The EastEnders star, who is famed for his role as character Alfie Moon on the hit BBC show, leaves wife Christie Goddard watching him at home on the sofa, as well as their children Mackenzie Blue, Lolita Bell and Romani-Skye Angel Shelley.

Christie is an actress and you might recognise her from the likes of The Last Dance, American Daylight and Hustle.

Before marrying Christie in 2007, Shane was married to Loose Women panellist and former singer Coleen Nolan.

Their marriage lasted from 1990-1999 but theysplit due to Shane's infidelity. Speaking to the Daily Mail in 2017, the Eastenders star said: "I'd be on TV advocating monogamy while I was having an affair."

The actor continued to say: “By 1996 my ego had taken over. I was getting a police escort to nightclubs. I'd be thinking, I'm 30, I've got bad skin but all these girls are screaming for me outside."

He added: "I was lying to myself about the drinking and the women, thinking I was pulling the wool over the public's eyes.”

However, the exes have two children together and have remained friendly. When asked about Shane doing the show, Coleen said: “I’m so excited!

“He FaceTimed the boys [their sons Shane, 31, and Jake, 28] just before they took his phone away and I was talking to him on FaceTime and he was so nervous.”

Coleen added: “I think he could be in with a chance of winning!”

Shane’s son, Shane Jr, used his dad’s name but then changed his moniker to his Loose Women mother’s surname, Nolan, in 2017 after she took part in, and won, Celebrity Big Brother.

And now, since the news broke that former EastEnders actor Shane, 56, is taking part in I’m A Celeb, the couple’s eldest son is reported to have joked about changing from Nolan to Roche, which is his real surname.

A source said: “Shane Jnr is hugely supportive of his mum and his dad and will do anything to publicly show his love for them.

“When Coleen was in Celebrity Big Brother he stopped using Richie and is now known as Shane Nolan. He did this to support her and to show her how much he cared and respected her.”

Shane has had a very successful career in television.

The London born star took his stage name from singer Lionel Richie, but was born Shane Patrick Roache.

Beginning his career as a bluecoat entertainer at Pontins, Richie then went on to become a well known comedian and actor who has also starred in Moving On, Flushed Away, Benidorm, Caught In The Act and Win, Lose or Draw.

Shane first appeared in EastEnders from 2002-2005 and has since dabbled in the show, returning from 2010-2016.

He then returned to the soap again in March 2018 but left the following year.
