From high-profile romances to her infamous conservatorship, Britney Spears spills all in her new memoir, The Woman In Me, which finally landed on shelves on Monday.
The pop star, 41, is finally telling her side of the story after growing up in the spotlight and becoming one of the most famous singers in the world.
In her memoir, mum-of-two Britney sets the record straight on numerous stories about her while opening up about everything from trying drugs to the famous moment she decided to shave her head in 2007.
Let's take a look at some of the most explosive bombshells from Britney's new book…
Justin Timberlake split
Britney dated fellow pop star Justin Timberlake from 1999 until 2002, with the pair's romance regularly hitting the headlines.
While it was widely reported that Britney cheated on Justin, in her book, the singer also claims that Justin was unfaithful to her but was viewed as "America's golden. boy" while she was portrayed as a "harlot" following their split. Britney appears to acknowledge she was unfaithful to Justin, but claims that he "neglected to mention the several times he'd cheated on me". She also claims she never confronted her ex about his cheating.
Britney also opens up about their break-up, claiming Justin dumped her by text message. He ended their romance with a two-word message that read: "It's over!!" which she received while filming the music video for hit track Overprotected.
Conservatorship 'murder' fears
Britney says she feared her family would "try to kill" her during her 13-year conservatorship. She said that "at various times I pushed back" as her father Jamie made all of her life decisions for her.
The pop star said she'd attempt to fight against her father when he "took away access" to her cell phone and would try and get "a private phone and try and break free" but her family "always caught" her.
She said she became "tired and scared", adding: "After being held down on a gurney, I knew they could restrain my body any time they wanted to. They could’ve tried to kill me, I thought. I started to wonder if they did want to kill me."
Trying drugs
In her book, Britney shares her heartbreak over her split from Justin in 2002 and says she even tried drugs in the aftermath of their split.
She relocated to New York after their break-up, but says she rarely went out. On one of the rare occasions she decided to head on a night out, Britney says she ended up trying weed for the first time after her cousin took her to a "sexy underground club" where she took a "couple of hits from a joint".
Cry Me a River 'shame'
Despite splitting up over 20 years ago, Britney claims ex-boyfriend Justin still doesn't understand how much he hurt her.
Following the split, Justin released his hit track Cry Me a River, which was reportedly written about Britney. The music video for the song even featured a Britney lookalike. In her book, she writes that Justin "shamed" her with the song and that she felt she couldn't tell her side of the story.
"The thought of my betraying him gave the album more angst, gave it a purpose: sh*t-talking an unfaithful woman," Britney penned. "Everyone felt very sorry for him. And it shamed me. I felt there was no way at the time to tell my side of the story. I couldn’t explain, because I knew no one would take my side once Justin had convinced the world of his version."
She adds: "I don’t think Justin realised the power he had in shaming me. I don’t think he understands to this day. After Cry Me a River came out, anywhere I went, I could get booed. I would go to clubs and I would hear boos. Once I went to a Lakers game with my little sister and one of my brother’s friends, and the whole place, the whole arena, booed me."
Las Vegas wedding
In 2004, Britney married her close pal Jason Alexander in Las Vegas following a boozy night out, and while she saw the funny side of their nuptials, she claims her family were unimpressed by her actions.
In her book, she says she had no memory of the wedding and her family had to tell her about what had happened. She insisted she and Jason were "just having fun", but her family didn't see the fun side of the story.
Britney claims her family made "too big of a deal" out of the marriage, which was annulled immediately, and acted like she'd "started World War III".
At-home abortion
Britney claims she fell pregnant while in a relationship with Justin but had an abortion after he said they were too young to become parents.
She details her abortion in the book and tells how she was in "agonising" pain after taking the medication while at home in a bid to keep it entirely private. Britney says she suffered "excruciating cramps" while lying on the bathroom floor for hours in pain. Justin was present at the time but didn't take her to the hospital, instead he played his guitar for her while she cried.
Britney says the painful experience "messed her up" for a while afterwards and is one of the most painful things she's been through in her life.
Colin Farrell fling
Following her split from Justin, Britney had a short-lived fling with Colin Farrell. She opens up about the start of the romance, admitting she made the first move after commenting on how "handsome" Colin was to a pal.
She says she visited the set of S.W.A.T and was invited to sit in the director's chair. Colin then came up to her and asked her for "pointers", and following their initial conversation they embarked on a two-week fling, which she likened to a "brawl".
Britney says she and Colin were "all over each other, grappling so passionately it was like we were in a street fight". While their romance was short-lived, Britney admits she did think "there could be something there" at one point.
Shaving her head
While in the midst of getting a divorce from husband Kevin Federline in 2007, Britney shaved her head with photos of the moment being published across the world. Britney sparked concern at the time, but has now opened up on why she decided to shave her head.
She explains that she'd spent her life being "eyeballed" and "looked up and down", so decided to shave her head to "act out" and as her way of pushing back.
