Argos shoppers rave about an electric blanket that keeps customers warm during the cold winter – and it costs just 1p a night to run

Argos shoppers have found the answer to getting through the cold winter nights without turning the heating after snapping up an electric blanket that costs just 1p per night to run.

The Slumberdown Warm Hugs Electric Blanket has three settings so customers can drift off to sleep at the perfect temperature and the website says it can be used all night because of its low energy consumption.

It also has a brushed fleece cover, can heat up in just five minutes and costs from £30 for a single. 

As public health chiefs urge consumers to heat the main rooms of their house during the cold weather, the electric blanket is being praised as a cheaper way of keeping warm when temperatures drop.

The price of a small single blanket has been reduced to £30 and costs from 1p per night to use, subject to change, according to the branding.

The product also boasts overheat protection and can be machine washed.

Flooded with five star reviews on the Argos website, shoppers have said they are using the product as a cheap way of heating up their beds as well as using it on their work chairs during the day.

One customer said: ‘Basic cheap single bed electric blanket…..is excellent…..I really look forward to getting into bed specially now it is turning colder.’

Customers have said the blanket keeps themselves and their family members warm at night or when working from home

Describing how they use the product when working from home, one shopper wrote: ‘I work from home so I am using this on my work chair and it is keeping me nice and warm.’

Other customers explained how they use the blanket to keep their children warm saying: ‘This has made my daughter nice and warm at night.. saving loads on my heating bill.’ 

Another added: ‘I bought two of these electric blankets a few weeks ago to keep energy costs down. They’re great. I have one on my little girl’s bed and the other on the sofa for cold evenings. They’re really easy to use and are super toasty.’
