Ant Anstead has broken his silence on his split from wife Christina Anstead a little over a week after she first announced their separation.
“Anyone who really knows me knows that I don’t like to share private matters publicly,” Anstead, 41, wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of himself and the “Flip or Flop” star on Sunday. “I have remained silent while holding on to hope. I never gave up on us. I pray Christina’s decision brings her happiness.”
Anstead and Christina, 37, first began dating in 2017, and married in December 2018. They share a 1-year-old son named Hudson.
Hours after Ant posted, Christina shared a lengthy Instagram post “reintroducing” herself to her followers. In the post she admits, “I never thought I would have one divorce let alone two. I never thought I would have 2 baby daddies – but sometimes life throws us curve balls.”
She continued, “Instead of getting stuck in these ‘setbacks’ I choose to look at these challenges as opportunities to grow. So while some may judge me and throw around rumors about me, most of you support me. And that says a lot about this world and where we are headed. I’m messy, I’m real and I’m working on healing.
She ended her note saying, “We are all a work in progress.”
Christina was previously married to her “Flip or Flop” co-star Tarek El Moussa from 2009 to 2018. They share 10-year-old daughter Taylor and 5-year-old son Brayden.
Ant was married to Louise Anstead with whom he also shares two children.
