Aldi launching double seat version of their hanging egg chair for £199 – and here’s the trick to getting one first

It wasn't long ago that shoppers were getting excited about getting their hands on a hanging egg chair from supermarket Aldi.

After selling out in just hours due to its similarity to seats that both Mrs Hinch and Stacey Solomon have in their homes, the budget store have decided to launch something even bigger and better.

Instead of just one seat Aldi are releasing a supersized double seat version of the egg chair for £199 that will accommodate two people – so those romantic evenings in during lockdown will be even more idyllic!

Facebook group ALDI Shoppers UK were the first to eye the new double seater, with fans sharing their delight at a second chance to pick up the hanging egg chair.

The image of the supersize grey rattan design was shared in the group along with the caption: "Looks like theres another egg chair coming on 21st June for online order."

And one person was even kind enough to share the trick to getting their hands on the Specialbuys before they sold out – you need to download the Aldi app to receive notifications the moment they go on sale.

  • Aldi's £150 hanging egg chair is back – just like Stacey and Mrs Hinch's

  • Best bits of Mrs Hinch's garden from her egg chair to her custom BBQ trolley

For some the trick isn't enough and they even set up several devices: "They go on sale online at midnight. We had 3 devices going last time the egg chair went on sale & we were 11,000 plus to 18,000 plus in the queue! It’s bloody ridiculous!"

Those lucky enough to get their own egg chair, admitted it was quite large: "I was surprised just how much space the single one takes up. But it is lush!"

While another person joked: "Wouldn’t be surprised if Aldi put them online at 03:00 or something to keep everyone on their toes!"

Those looking to snap up the must-have piece of furniture will need to be quick when it goes on sale online on Sunday 21 June, as the ordeal of buying the original £150 chair left customers fuming when they were stuck in virtual queues of 40,000.

Keen fans of the hanging egg chair had reportedly been waiting at the stroke of midnight to get hold of the Aldi Specialbuy but were not impressed when the chair didn't appear to be on the site.

When shoppers went on to the site to purchase the online exclusive a message came up, according to the Sun, which read: "Our Specialbuys are 'eggstra' popular right now but our famous hanging egg chair sadly sold out online very early. Remember, when it's gone, it's gone! Don't miss out on the rest of our amazing online Specialbuys and Wine range."

People flocked to Twitter to complain: "@AldiUK these egg chairs are like gold dust… been on every hour since midnight. Can you let us know if the sale has been live or does the "sold out" label stay there all the time?"

"@AldiUK Really disappointed, went online before midnight, awaiting stock of the egg chair for my daughter. When web page eventually uploaded waited in an online queue for 2hrs 30mins to be told sold out already! Really disappointing."

Another wrote: "@AldiUK I logged on at midnight to buy your egg swing chair and it said your systems just updating try again later, logged on at 7am and SOLD OUT. I’m gutted! Are you expecting more in???"
