Wayne Bridge has reportedly pulled out of Dancing On Ice days before training is due to start.

The 40 year old was said to be putting on his skates and heading to the rink in January but now has other commitments.

Former footballer Wayne was tipped to be joining Myleene Klass, Jason Donovan and Faye Brookes on the line-up, but will no longer be doing so.

A source said: "Wayne had several meetings with bosses but suddenly he was no longer taking part.

"Dancing On Ice audition a lot of stars – sometimes people don't get through if they're not very good skaters but Wayne was really impressive.

"He was expected to sign the contract and then disappeared from the lineup, it's all a bit of a mystery!," the insider continued to tell The Sun Online.

The I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star's wife Frankie Bridge also weighed in on the rumours, claiming that Wayne won't be taking part.

She told MailOnline: "No, I don't think [he'll be doing it]. He’s actually really good at ice-skating. Annoyingly, he’s good at everything."

Former The Saturdays singer Frankie also ruled herself out of the show after competing on Strictly Come Dancing in 2014.

She continued: "I have the fear! Wayne does not have the fear. We've been ice skating with the kids sometimes and I just found it so difficult.

"He came to the ice rink with me a couple of times and was skating backwards and doing all this stuff.

"I don't know, it's a big time commitment and I think the difference between Dancing On Ice and Strictly is that I love Strictly and I had always wanted to do it.

"It's nerve wracking and you get to learn something new but with Dancing On Ice, it's a little underplayed because you have to learn to dance and skate and you have to be so brave, there's so many injuries. I don't think I could do it."
