Tom Cruise may have rekindled his romance with Marvel star Hayley Atwell after she appeared alongside him at the premiere for his new film.
Hollywood A-lister Tom, 56, and British actress, Hayley, 40, are said to have instantly hit it off and become an item whilst filming the upcoming Mission Impossible sequel together in 2020.
However, the pair reportedly broke up last September after around 10 months together.
But tongues are now wagging that they are back together after Hayley's appearance on the red carpet at the premiere for the new Top Gun: Maverick film last night, Thursday, May 19.
Hayley does not appear in the movie but she stunned onlookers in a stunning black evening gown as she appeared on the red carpet for the premiere of the film, which hits cinemas next week, 36 years after the original was released.
Sources told The Sun that Hayley's last-minute decision to attend the star-studded event "shows how close they have become again".
"She’s purely there to support him. It’s a big step for them," one source told the newspaper.
And she lavished praise on Tom afterwards, saying on Instagram: "@topgunmovie premiere this evening. An epic action-adventure, masterfully created by an exceptional team of filmmakers, lead by the most generous and wholehearted movie legend @tomcruise.”
Tom and Hayley have always remained tight-lipped about their reported romance, but a source said last year that it was that work commitments has caused their split, the Mirror reports.
“It has been a very intense period of filming together. They really got on well – and they’re obviously both very good-looking Hollywood stars so it made for a good match," the friend claimed at the time.
“Their filming schedules are very full-on, and Tom has a number of other commitments coming up and is always shooting around by private helicopter and jet so it just ran its course.
“But they’re still happy to work together. It’s a shame, but just one of those things. They still get on well.”
After a number of delays and setbacks Mission Impossible Seven Mission is expected to finally be released in July next year, five years after the previous film in the spy series was released.
The next two films in the series are being tipped to be the last.
Prince William and Kate Middleton were also present at the Top Gun premiere on Thursday night and Tom could be seen helping the Duchess of Cambridge up a pair of steps by offering her his hand.
Tom said he had "a lot in common" with William.
He added: "We both love England and we’re both aviators. We both love flying.”
