Joe Diffie has passed away at the age of 61 after he tested positive for COVID-19 two days ago, says his publicist, according to ABC News.
A statement was released to The Associated Press from the singer that said he is “receiving treatment” following his diagnosis of the virus.
Diffie said in his statement: “I am under the care of medical professionals and currently receiving treatment.
“My family and I are asking for privacy at this time.
“We want to remind the public and all my fans to be vigilant, cautious, and careful during this pandemic.”
The Mirror reported that Joe’s publicist said: “Grammy-winning country music legend Joe Diffie passed away today, Sunday, March 29, from complications of coronavirus (COVID-19).
“His family respects their privacy at this time.”
