Britney Spears deactivates Instagram after saying she didnt mean to offend anybody with memoir

Britney Spears has deactivated her Instagram after revelations from her new book made headlines this week.

The popstar's long-awaited memoir The Woman in Me will hit shelves next week, on October 24.

However the pre-release coverage has already highlighted some of the book's contents which includes details of her relationship with Justin Timberlake.

The 41-year-old has spoken out about the headlines and has urged her fans that she didn't mean to "offend anyone."

Britney deactivated her Instagram account after posting a written statement online which read: "My book’s purpose was not to offend anyone by any means!

"That was me then … that is in the past! I don’t like the headlines I am reading … that’s exactly why I quit the business four years ago!

"Most of the book is from 20 years ago … I have moved on and it’s a beautiful clean slate from here!

"I am here to establish it that way for the rest of my entire life! Either way, that is the last of it and s*** happens."

The mum-of-two went on to say that she hopes her book will "enlighten people" who have ever felt alone, hurt or misunderstood.

She added that while past experiences hurt her, she has "moved on."

Fans rushed to support Britney and shared their thoughts on X, formerly known as Twitter.

One person was quick to pen: "Queen you never had the chance to speak up and tell people how you really felt so WE DEFINITELY UNDERSTAND."

While another added: "YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO TELL YOUR STORY AND WE ARE AT YOUR SIDE, ALWAYS!"

And a third said: "I believe you needed this book to deal with the past! Not too many people know about your private life, so it definitely will be interesting to read! People do get offended, but is not your problem…!"

Early reports of the book has suggested that the singer writes about an abortion she had while with her then boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

Another bombshell from the book reveals that she struggled when her father "fat shamed" her.

She is also believed to detail information about her conservatorship which was said to have caused her to struggle with her mental health.

Spears landed a reported $15m from Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, which acquired the memoir in a bidding war.

The Woman in Me is released on 24 October and will be read by Oscar-nominated actor Michelle Williams for the audiobook version.
