Broadcaster Marcus Lamb, a co-founder and the CEO of the conservative Christian Daystar Television Network, died yesterday in hospital, weeks after contracting coronavirus. The 64-year-old did not receive the Covid-19 vaccines and vocally opposed against them.

Double-jabbed Piers Morgan, 56, shared the news of Marcus’ death on Twitter, calling it “another needless tragedy”.

He wrote: “How many anti-vaxxers have to die from Covid before they realise they’re wrong?”

The journalist’s comment certainly garnered attention and divided many of his eight million followers.

Amber Phoenix commented: “There is no right and wrong. There is however freedom of choice. We should respect that instead of judging?”

“Piers I think is time you realize that you don’t make people do what they don’t want,” added Snoopy Lion.(sic)

“Let it take its natural cost don’t force it my man.”

Ciaran D penned: “How are they ‘wrong’. It’s called freedom to choose. And sometimes choices have consequences.

“But the freedom to make the choice should remain. The man has paid with his life, and it doesn’t need to be used as an ‘I told you so’ or as a means to take the choice away from others.”

Martin Whitman added: “If a government tells you to vaccine and they will grant you freedom, it’s correct to question them.

“I am vaccinated but respect people who decide not to.”

News of Marcus’ death was shared by Daystar Television on Twitter yesterday.

They wrote: “It’s with a heavy heart we announce that Marcus Lamb, president and founder of Daystar Television Network, went home to be with the Lord this morning.

“The family asks that their privacy be respected as they grieve this difficult loss. Please continue to lift them up in prayer.”

On November 23, Marcus’ son Jonathan Lamb urged Daystar listeners to pray for his dad to recover.

His wife Joni Lamb added: “With this thing, it’s kind of like riding a roller coaster.

“It’s like, you’ll just be up and everything’s great, and then you have a little lull, and then you come down low and then you come back up, but from everybody that I talk to — I think that’s the pattern.”

She went on to ask listeners to “pray specifically for his lungs to clear the Covid pneumonia” and “his oxygen level to continue to be strong and go up” so that he could return home.

Jonathan went on to describe Marcus’ Covid infection as “a spiritual attack from the enemy” to “take down” his dad.

Last night, he took to Instagram to pay tribute to his late father.

As part of a lengthy caption, he wrote: “I’m going to really miss Dad. We golfed together every week for the past 15 years. He impacted me by demonstrating a righteous way to live and helped me become the man I am today.

“Dad, I love you so much and I’m going to do my best to carry on your legacy!”
