A SAVVY woman has revealed she’s found the best place to get a haircut in London on the cheap.
Marisa Brand, from the US, has been using her social media account to document her time in London since moving across the pond in 2020.
While she appears to have settled in well, she’s discovered that the cost of living can be quite difficult to cope with.
“I’ve been having an itch to get my haircut but I can’t stomach London prices,” she told viewers in a clip.
Dressed in a grey T-shirt with a black cardigan and blue jeans on, she flipped her brunette hair from one side to another as she continued: “So I searched out some of the salon academies in the area.”
Marisa went on to explain that she used to go to the Aveda Academy in the US, which led her to believe there could be one in London too.

She finally found the Sassoon Academy, which is located in St Paul’s.
“My stylist ended up being Millie, she’s on week 27 of her programme,” she explained as Millie could be seen cutting her hair behind her.
“She cut my hair then added some layers and here’s the reveal,” Marisa shared, adding: “I really like it and for only a fiver for students, I definitely recommend.”
In the caption, she wrote: “Feeling like myself again,” followed by a smiling emoji.

People were quick to comment on the post as one person wrote: “£5, she did such a good job!”
TikTok user @marisa_elle replied: “Right?! She was super sweet, as well. Her insta is hairbymillieknox.”
Another wrote: “Looks great!!” as a third chimed: “So cute”.
While the price was once £5 for students, it’s now listed as £10 for students and nurses with valid ID.
And the general public can get their hair cut for £20 for the academy, which costs extra depending on whether you also want tint, highlights, colour change, a perm and more.
People on TrustPilot have shared their reviews on the academy too, with one person sharing: “I had a fantastic experience from start to finish today at the training academy on Ave Maria Ln, London.”
Another wrote: “It’s a lot cheaper and you have to sit for 3 hours which is exhausting. On the whole the cuts are much much better than at high street salons.”
While a third added: “The team are so helpful and informative and always ready to help with a smile.”
